
Jennie Smythe is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of award-winning Girlilla Marketing, the driving force behind the digital strategy for a diverse roster of world-famous entertainers and brands. Jennie's self-built company celebrated 15 years of success in 2023, where she and her talented team oversee digital marketing campaigns for clients Dead & Company, Darius Rucker, Blondie, Kristin Chenoweth, Willie Nelson, Brooke Shields, Vince Gill and many others.
With more than 25 years of experience in music and marketing, Jennie's career began at Elektra Entertainment, and includes time at Disney’s Hollywood Records and YAHOO! Music. She landed in Nashville after being recruited to join Warner Bros. Records’ New Media Department, and later served as Clear Channel Sr. Director of Content and Marketing. In 2008, her passion and career experience inspired the launch of Girlilla Marketing.
Today, Jennie continues to bring a creative approach to the ever-changing digital landscape. She has been featured in Forbes, Billboard, MusicRow, People, Fast Company, HITS, and The Tennessean. She is a multi-year winner of the Nashville Business Journal’s Women in Music City Awards, a MusicRow magazine Rising Women on the Row honoree and was recognized on the Nashville Post In Charge Music list.
Smythe currently holds board positions with the Country Music Association (past chairperson) and CMA Foundation (past chairperson). Her past positions include Music Health Alliance, Academy of Country Music and St. Jude. She is a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Music executive training program and currently serves as an Advocacy Ambassador for the Susan G. Komen Center for Public Policy.
